TULLAMORE’s Tidy Town Committee has high hopes for the town in 2012 in the forthcoming national competition, according to its committee chairperson.

Speaking at the launch of the Tullamore Credit Union Tidy Tullamore initiative, Cllr. Tommy McKeigue, believed that Tullamore town wouldn’t have the status in the Tidy Towns competition without the support of Tullamore Credit Union’s initiative.

“Without the support for this competition, it wouldn’t go ahead and we wouldn’t have the status in the Tidy Towns competition every year. We have to try and lift that a little bit more and get a sliver medial after the bronzes of the last five years.”

According to Cllr. McKeigue, the town needs to do a “few small things” to get it right” and he said that the committee have gotten some tips to move forward in the competition. “We are going in this year with good hopes for this year’s competition,” he added.
