Ellen lights up Mucklagh

Mucklagh had a very special night last Sunday when Ellen Crowley from Lynally Grove turned on the Christmas lights.

Ellen, along with her sister Eve and brother Ciaran, were brought to turn on the lights on Santa’s sleigh.

A large crowd welcomed Ellen at the church. As the countdown came to an end, Ellen waved her magic wand to turn on the lights.

Children from Childsplay Pre -School sang Christmas songs and The St Coleman’s Choir also sang carols.

Santa was very much in demand as all the young children were mesmerised with his Sleigh and queued up for photos.

This is the first time Mucklagh has a Christmas Tree and Mucklagh Community Development, Tidy Towns along with FR Carley and Fr McEvoy would like to thank everyone who helped to make this happen.

A special thanks to Ellen and Santa and Mucklagh Community Development would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year and wish everyone a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

See this week’s Offaly Express (December 14) for extensive photographic coverage
