Tullamore Rugby Club given green light for major development including new pitches

Tullamore Rugby Club had been given the green light for a major development of their grounds at Spollanstown.

Offaly County Council has granted permission for the development works.

The plans include the extension of the existing boundaries, two new rugby pitches with associated floodlighting, ball stop netting and ancillary works.

The plans also include an illuminated walking track on the perimeter of the proposed development.

Planning permission was granted with ten conditions attached including a condition that states that the new flood lights and the walking track cannot be used after 10pm. There is also a condition that stipulates how the site should be landscaped.

The club was recently approved for a €148,041 Government grant for upgrading their facilities and this will help pay for the developments. They acquired additional land some time ago to enable the construction of the new pitches.
