Met Eireann is forecasting a mixed week on the weather front for Ireland with the weather set to be generally cool with a mix of sunny spells and showers or longer spells of rain.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, scattered showers in the west will spread eastwards through this morning and afternoon bringing a chance of hail and thunder. More prolonged showers will develop in the west in the evening. Cooler than of late with highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees and with moderate southwest to west winds developing.

A mix of cloud and clear spells tonight with scattered showers, some prolonged and of hail early in the night. The showers will become mostly confined to western coasts later with largely dry conditions elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds, fresher near coasts.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland there will be sunny spells on Monday with scattered showers extending eastwards, some of hail with the chance of isolated thunderstorms. The showers will ease during the evening with a possibility of some rain moving into southeastern parts. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 or 14 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, easing later.

Becoming generally cloudy over eastern facing counties on Monday night. Mostly dry and clear further west with just some showers near coasts though mist and fog patches will develop. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees in light southerly breezes, veering westerly.

Sunny spells further west with well scattered light showers. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly breezes.

Tuesday night will be mostly dry and variable cloud and just a few showers near Atlantic coasts. Chilly with lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees with a touch of frost. Some mist and fog patches will form too in light northerly or variable breezes.

Current indications suggest that the west and south will see sunny spells and scattered showers, some of hail. Cloudier conditions may continue for much of the day in the north and east with some rain possibly moving in from the Irish Sea. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in mostly light northwesterly winds, more moderate for eastern facing counties. Becoming drier and clearer overnight with just a few showers, mainly in the west. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.
