It takes place in the Presbyterian Church, High Street, Tullamore at 8pm. All are welcome to attend, no admission charge and it is open to non-members. A review of the year will take place, looking at past events such as COSMOS 2013, the Perseids StarBQ, visiting lecturers and various other activities.

Midlands Astronomy Club was originally know as Tullamore Astronomical Society. The name was changed in 2008 to reflect its growing membership base, now with members covering six counties.
It remains as one of the oldest amateur clubs in Ireland, having established itself properly in 1986. MAC also hosts the only annual weekend-long star party of its kind in Ireland, COSMOS, since 1992. COSMOS is aimed at amateur astronomers, hobbyists and enthusiasts, attracting visitors from around Ireland. COSMOS 2013 will take place on the weekend of April 12th to14th at Annaharvey Farm, four miles outside Tullamore.
It is also one of only a handful of clubs in Ireland that have 4 club-owned telescopes AND an observing site with observatory, built by members.
Monthly lectures take place on the first Tuesday of the month at 8pm and are always aimed at all levels of interest to keep the discerning astronomy enthusiast interested. Observing sessions take place monthly too as and when the weather allows. Many outreach projects thorugh the years have seen MAC host events in scouts dens, youth centres, community halls and schools around the midlands.
