Winter vomiting bug outbreak in Tullamore

A number of cases of winter vomiting bug have been confirmed at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore and visitors restrictions have been put in place as a result.

A number of cases of winter vomiting bug have been confirmed at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore and visitors restrictions have been put in place as a result.

The HSE has requested that children do not visit the hospital and that only essential visiting should take place.

Symptoms of the virus include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and it can be particularly harmful to the very young and the elderly.

Anyone experiencing symptoms should contact their GP.
