OFFALY Fire Services reported a decrease in the number of calls to deal with bonfires over the Hallowe’en this year.
Speaking to the Offaly Express, a spokesperson for the Fire Services, said the Services had a smaller number of calls to deal with outdoor fires this year then in previous years.
Describing the weekend as “fairly quiet” comparable to other years, the spokesperson said the decreased number of calls relating to bonfires could have been due to the weather.
Elsewhere, the local Fire Services were called to deal with two accidents on the motorway as well as a house fire in Arden view, Tullamore over the weekend.
