PASSING of the referendum on the European Stability Treaty will build on the economic progress made by the Government since it took office, claimed Laois/Offaly TD Marcella Corcoran Kennedy.
While welcoming the decision to hold the referendum, Deputy Corcoran Kennedy said if the country wanted to continue on its recent positive path, people need to ensure stability. “The rules contained within the Stability Treaty will strengthen the Eurozone and will prevent catastrophic decisions which led to our financial downfall from being taken again.
“I have confidence in the ability of the Irish economy to recover and grow in a sustainable way once again. The Treaty that is now to be put to the Irish people will provide the structural support to allow that to happen.”
