Trolley numbers ‘not acceptable’

TULLAMORE Town Councillor Brendan Killeavy has said the fact that 23 patients were on trolleys at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore last week was ‘not acceptable’.

TULLAMORE Town Councillor Brendan Killeavy has said the fact that 23 patients were on trolleys at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore last week was ‘not acceptable’.

“Is there any correspondence from the HSE? There were 23 people on trollies in A&E last night (last Wednesday week). There were even some in the corridors. This is getting out of hand. It’s not acceptable,” said Cllr Killeavy.

Cllr Molly Buckley said they had spoken of this so many times and it was causing “terrible distress”.

Town Clerk Ruth McNally said she had written to the Hospital Manager on February 15 and had received no reply.
