Investigation into Offaly death upgraded to murder enquiry

Gardai in Tullamore investigating the discovery of the body in Clara, County Offaly, on January 7 have upgraded their investigation to a murder enquiry.

The enquiry was upgraded following the results of a post mortem which was carried out by the State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy. Gardai will not be making the results public for operational reasons.

The body of 47 year old Christy Daly was found at Bog Road, Killbride at 8.45am on Tuesday, January 7. The body was found in a drain near a burnt out caravan where it is believed the victim was living.

Gardai have appealed for any witnesses or anyone who has any information to contact the Garda in Tullamore Garda station on 057 9327600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
