Teenager seriously injured in Tullamore crash

Gardai in Tullamore are appealing for information regarding a serious collision outside the town on Sunday which has left a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured

Gardai in Tullamore are appealing for information regarding a serious collision outside the town on Sunday which has left a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured

The serious crash happened on the Geashill to Tullamore road at the Meelaghans at approximately 7.30pm.

The road was sealed off on Monday morning with diversions in place as Gardai carried out an examination of the scene.

The 17-year-old male is understood to have been the driver of the car. Two female passengers who were also in the vehicle were not injured during the crash.

Gardai are believed to be investigating whether a second car was involved in the accident which subsequently left the scene.

Gardai are appealing to any witnesses or to anyone with information to contact them in Tullamore on 057 9327600.
