New solar powered traffic signals have been installed at Cloneyhurke National school in recent weeks and are a very welcomed addition to this Rural School according to Local Councillor Eddie Fitzpatrick.
The signage is fitted with an electronic timer which allows the speed to flash before motorists in the morning when parents are bringing their children to the school and in the evening when they are being collected.
“I wish to thank the area engineer and the road’s section of Offaly County Council for ensuring this safety measure was put in place. It is very important that motorist be aware of Rural schools and slow down to ensure safety for all concerned,” commented Cllr Fitzpatrick.
