DEPUTIES Brian Stanley and Marcella Corocoran Kennedy were welcomed to their first meeting of Offaly County Council Joint Policing Committee meeting his week.
Chairman Cllr Peter Ormond acknowledged that it was the first meeting for both the Sinn Fein and Fine Gael TDs since their election.
Cllr Ormond also sympathised with Chief Supt Frank Moore on the recent death of his mother.
Meanwhile Cllr Molly Buckley paid tribute to the Gardai in Offaly for keeping people safe and their ‘friendliness’ during the visit of President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle last May.
