GARDAI in Ballycumber discovered 500 cannabis plants following the search of a rented house in Ballycumber.
The search took place at the house in the Twickenham Estate, in Ballycumber on Tuesday last where Gardai seized the plants with an estimated street value of €160,000. The plants were being cultivated at the house.
Andrew McDonnell of 48 Pembroke Cottages, Ringsend, Dublin was arrested at the scene and was charged with breach of Section 17 of the Misuse of Drugs Act for cultivating cannabis, at Athlone District Court last Wednesday.
