ANNE ‘Nanny’ Rooney celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends in Maunsell’s on Saturday last.
She is in fine form and puts her longevity down to hard work. She has worked hard all her life raising her family and was also caretaker of CIE’s Meelaghans level crossing.
Throughout her life there have been good times and not so good times, in particular when she lost her husband Bill and also two of her children Eileen and Pat.
She puts the love and friendship of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on top of her list of priorities and needless to say, they were all delighted to help her celebrate her birthday in style.
Neighbours, family members and friends all helped to make this a birthday to remember for Nanny.
