Arrest made in Edenderry murder investigation

Gardaí investigating the murder of 64-year-old Thomas (Toddy) Dooley at a house in Edenderry, Co Offaly, on February 16 have arrested a man.

Gardaí investigating the murder of 64-year-old Thomas (Toddy) Dooley at a house in Edenderry, Co Offaly, on February 16 have arrested a man.

The 19 year old man was arrested this morning, February 26, in Edenderry, Co Offaly and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tullamore Garda Station. He may be detained for up to twenty four hours.

The body of Mr Dooley was discovered when Gardai were called to his house at Sister Senan Court Edenderry. He had sustained injuries to his upper body was pronounced dead at the scene.
