Festive cheer at Daingean Christmas Fayre

Daingean Homecoming Festival committee were delighted with the Christmas Fayre that was held last Saturday in the Town Hall.

Huge crowds attended and were spoilt for choice with all things nice on display. From Christmas decorations to fancy head gear and anything in between, the stands were overflowing with merchandise.

As the month of December dictates, Santa also made a grand entrance on horse and carriage where he was welcomed by Chairperson Joe Lynch. He officially declared the Fayre open before he got down to the serious business of checking his list with the many children who called to see him in his grotto. A monster raffle and fantastic auction got a huge response.

Joe thanked sincerely all who supported the day and especially anyone who donated items or gave their time and effort organising and helping on the day – in fairness too many to mention individually but he is delighted that community spirit is alive and well in Daingean.

The afternoon ended when the Daingean National School Choir (with a little help from Lilly Colgan and Martin Goulding) sang a wonderful selection of Christmas carols.
