Gardai seek witnesses after pedestrian struck by car in Tullamore

Gardaí in Tullamore investigating a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Church Road, Tullamore at approximately 4am this morning (Saturday) are appealing for witnesses.

A 21 years old male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car. The injured male was brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore but later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. He is described as been in a critical condition. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was closed on Saturday pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the collision to contact Tullamore Garda station at 057-9327600, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
