The success of the inaugural Tullamore Annual has prompted the Tullamore Lions Club to undertake the task of compiling their second annual.

Due to be published in time for the Christmas market the Tullamore Annual will be packed full of interesting articles and photographs of many aspects of life in Tullamore.

Last year’s widely acclaimed publication won universal approval with all the proceeds from the sale going to support the many causes in our community that the Tullamore Lions club strives to support

President of Tullamore Lions club Mark Gallagher is very enthusiastic about this project. “The Tullamore Annual is for everyone with Tullamore connections at home and abroad. Last year’s publication was a massive success and we’re determined to build on that success this year.”

Denis Doherty, Honorary Editor of the Tullamore Annual, said: “Over the past 38 years the people of Tullamore have been most supportive of the Lions Club.

“In all that time there has never been an occasion when the club had to refuse a request we considered worthy of support but lacked money to do so.

“The proceeds of the sale of the annual will, we believe, be a valuable source of income, all of which will be used to meet local needs.”

The first issue of the Tullamore Annual was jam packed with a wide and varying range of profiles, articles, features and photographs and the Lions Club are promising more of the same in the second annual.

“We are busily working behind the scenes and have numerous Tullamore people from home and abroad lined-up to write for us. We are also open to all suggestions and are interested in hearing from people, organisations or clubs who might want to be included.”

Local journalists Geraldine Grennan and Brian Jaffray are working alongside Mr Doherty in bringing out the Tullamore Annual.

Members of the general public can also help by supplying photographs of weddings that take place in 2013 and also by supplying photographs, to be included in a ‘fondly remembered’ section of the Annual, of loved one who pass away in 2013.
Suggestions about topics or items that might be included in the annual will also be most welcome. Communications may be sent to
