Gardai at Birr, County Offaly, have arrested a man following the discovery of a Cannabis grow house in Birr on Monday afternoon.
The 20 year old was detained at a premises on Bridge St in the town. As part of the planned search, Gardai discovered 260 cannabis plants with a potential street value of €208,000.
The discovery was made following an intelligence lead operation involving Gardaí from the Birr District, supported by Garda members from District and Regional units.
The man was arrested at the scene at approximately 1pm and was detained at Birr Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 and investigations are ongoing.
