AT the recent meeting of the Edenderry Area Committee of Offaly County Council Cllr Noel Bourke expressed his disappointment at the absence of a response from the HSE to a letter written to it over two months previously regarding Ofalia House in Edenderry.
Cllr Bourke said that there was a lot of concern in the area regarding reductions in services in Ofalia House and it was important that the HSE clarify the situation in order to allay fears which people have.
“Ofalia House is an important part of the health service in the northeast Offaly area for those in the older age group or people requiring special care and it is high time that the concerns surrounding it were addressed,” said Cllr Bourke.
Cllr Bourke proposed that a further letter be written to the HSE in order to get clarification on the matter and this was agreed by the Committee. It was also agreed to write to the Minister for Health about the matter.
