AN Taoiseach Brian Cowen has ended speculation about his future by announcing that he will not be running for election in the Laois/Offaly constituency at the upcoming General Election.

Mr Cowen made the announcement this evening on Midlands 103 in an interview with Gearoid Keegan. He cited family reasons as the main reason behind his decision.
