THE Bealtaine festival which celebrates creativity as we age gets underway this week in Offaly Libraries.

In this European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, we are asking you ‘What kind of old do you want to be?’ Do you want to be a dancer? A painter? A film-maker? A poet? An historian?

This is a month long festival and there are many events organized around Offaly by the Library Service, active retirement groups and local community groups. At Clara Library on Wednesday, May 2 a table quiz will take place with Clara Active Retirement Group from 2.30-4.30pm.

At Ferbane Library, on Thursday, May 3, Marcella Corcoran Kennedy, TD will launch an exhibition of work by Ferbane Art Group from 6.30.

Offaly Libraries are also offering free Internet access to over 55s for the month of May.

Many more events are planned in Offaly Libraries. See brochures available in libraries or on website at www.offaly.ie/libraries or contact your local library for further details.
