AN BORD Pleanala upheld a planning decision by Offaly County Council to grant permission, subject to a number of conditions, for the construction of three houses at Ballinvally, Killeigh, despite objections from the locality.

The proposed development is for the erection of two four bedroom two storey dwellings, and one three bedroom two storey dwelling at the location in Killeigh by Mr Aidan Kelly. Taking the matters into consideration, an Bord Pleanala upheld the planning decision made by Offaly County Council on August 5, 2011 with 17 conditions attached to same.

A number of the conditions related to the provision of public lighting on the proposed site, water supply and drainage arrangements, and the facilitation of the preservation, recording and protection of archaeological materials or features that may exist within the site. The developer was also directed to comply with the details of the planning authority for access to the public road and the internal road network serving the proposed development.
