The fatal crash occurred on the N17 near Claremorris.
Three people have died in a horrific road traffic accident on the N17 close to Claremorris.
The collision between a truck and car occurred earlier this afternoon in the townland of Castlegar on the N17, not far from Claremorris town.
It is believed two of the fatalities are children under the age 10.
Gardai and other emergency services are currently at the scene and the road is closed in both directions, and is expected to remain closed for time. No other information is available at this time.
