Lost driver gets stuck in snow on Offaly road after following Sat-Nav
Gardaí came to the rescue of a driver who got stuck on a road in the Slieve Blooms during Friday morning's snow blast.
Gardaí shared images from the snowy scene on the road between Kinnitty and Killanure on the Laois-Offaly border on Friday morning.
They said: "Gardai in Mountrath assisted a driver, that didn't know the area, this morning when GPS sent them up through the Slieve Blooms."
They added that "the road from Kinnity to Killanure is impassable due to heavy snow overnight."
Ireland woke up to a surprise blast of snow that seemed to catch everyone, including Met Éireann out, with the national forecaster not issuing widespread warnings until Friday morning.
