Data from the motorstats have revealed the best selling cars in Ireland in 2023.  Topping the pile is the Hyundai Tucson which sold 5.238 units in 2023 giving it a 4.3% market share. The Kia Sportage was the second best selling car with over 3,600 sold in Ireland in 2023. 

Toyota had the third and fourth best selling cars with the Corolla and the Yaris Cross with the Volkswagen ID.4 rounding out the top five. Toyota was the best selling car brand in Ireland.

Two more Toyotas made the top ten with the Toyota Yaris at six and the C-HR at seven and the Nissan Qashqai came in at number eight. 

Rounding out the top ten were the Skoda Octavia and the Hyundai Kona. 

The data also shows the most popular colour of car sold in Ireland and it shows we are a slightly boring lot. 

Far and away the most popular colour car was was which accounted for more than a third of the cars sold in 2023. 

The second most popular colour was black followed by blue and then white. Red rounded out the top five with green well behind in sixth place. 

Grey and black together was the seventh most popular colour choice with orange adding a brighter splash of colour at number eight.
