THE search for missing man, 24 year old Michael Egan, is continuing this week with divers from the Irish Naval Services, the Garda underwater team and other local groups combing the River Shannon in Banagher.
Michael, from Fivealley, Birr was last seen at approx 3am on October 17 last on the Banagher to Cloghan Road.
On Tuesday, the search for the 24 year old was being concentrated along the river from Banagher town back towards Portumna. River rescue groups from Wexford and Louth joined sub aqua groups from Athlone, Banagher and Loughrea in assisting local Gardai along with a huge number of local volunteers searching the banks of the river in a bid to find the missing man.
Michael is described as being 6’ in height, fair/red hair, blue eyes and medium build. He was wearing a blue jeans grey jumper with a logo on the front and with a stripe around the neck while wearing white runners.
Gardaí and family are very concerned for Michael and anyone, who may have seen Michael or who can assist the Gardaí in locating him is asked to contact Banagher Garda station on 057 9151310, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
