Slieve Bloom International Walking Festival set for May Bank Holiday weekend

Final preparations are being put in place for four days of great walks at one of Ireland’s longest running walking festival-The Slieve Bloom International Walking Festival, only an hour and a half drive from Dublin.

Final preparations are being put in place for four days of great walks at one of Ireland’s longest running walking festival-The Slieve Bloom International Walking Festival, only an hour and a half drive from Dublin.

The festival, on May Bank Holiday weekend May 3rd to 6th, is a celebration of the arrival of Spring and the wonderful variety of nature in the Slieve Blooms.

During the day explore the Slieve Bloom’s woodland trails, deep glens, rivers, waterfalls, remote bogland and picnic areas with experienced local walking guides.Walkers can choose from pleasant and easy woodland walks to challenging hikes through wilderness areas in the beautiful Slieve Bloom Mountains.In the evenings join your new friends at the Walkers BBQ on Saturday evening and enjoy some music and dancing on Sunday evening.

On Friday evening you will still be able to join us for your first walk at 6.00pm in Kinnitty. On Saturday meet at Kinnitty Community Centre from 10.15 am. Sunday choice of walks start at Clonaslee Community Centre from 10.15 am. Monday choice of walks starting at Kinnitty Community Centre and Clonaslee Community Centre from 11 am.
