ICY roads across the county have lead to numerous vehicles being involved in accidents on roads across Offaly this morning.
The majority of the incidents happened close to Tullamore with the stretch of road near the dump at Derryclure proving particularly treacherous.
The road was partially closed at around 9.30pm as efforts were made to remove a truck which ended up off the road. Gardai were at the scene directing traffic as a removal truck attempted to extricate the stricken vehicle.
At least two other cars left the road in the area on the main Tullamore to Portlaoise road which was particularly treacherous after freezing conditions overnight.
Another car is reported to have struck the wall outside the church in Durrow on the Tullamore to Kilbeggan Road while there were numerous other incidents reported in the town and in surrounding areas with conditions around Mucklagh being very dangerous for road users.
