CLARA Bog Visitor Centre is hosting an urban and countryside Foraging Walk around Clara.
Alison Delaney will be leading a walk around Clara and surrounding area exploring and nibbling some wild edibles along the way.
If you’ve ever wanted to forage for wild food, but weren’t quite sure where to start, join Alison on Saturday, May 12 to find out what free food is available on your doorstep.
Meet at 11am in the car park at Clara Bog Visitor Centre. Sturdy footwear recommended.
A bird box camera at the back of the Visitor Centre is transmitting live images onto a television in the exhibition room.
Watch astonishing footage of a Great Tit as she builds the nest where she will soon lay her eggs and rear her chicks with all the action being captured by the cameras.
Pop into the centre anytime to have a look at the live images and wonder at the marvel of new lives just beginning for this Great Tit family.
Clara Bog Visitor Centre will shortly be starting a Nature Club for children aged between 7 and 12 years of age.
If you’d like to learn more about the club or to book a place, please contact the Visitor Centre on 057 9368878.
Meanwhile, Art & Craft sessions continue to run every Saturday morning at Clara Bog Visitor Centre between 10am and 12pm. There will be a small cover charge of 1 euro per child for this activity.
