Tullamore River clean-up: a lot done, more to do

WHILE Fianna Fáil Town Councillor Declan Harvey issued a statement this week to compliment the Office of Public Works personnel for the ‘tremendous work they are doing’ in cleaning-up Tullamore River, this photo captured by eagle eyed ‘Express’ photographer Jim Yorke illustrates that while a lot may have been done, there is certainly a lot more to do!

WHILE Fianna Fáil Town Councillor Declan Harvey issued a statement this week to compliment the Office of Public Works personnel for the ‘tremendous work they are doing’ in cleaning-up Tullamore River, this photo captured by eagle eyed ‘Express’ photographer Jim Yorke illustrates that while a lot may have been done, there is certainly a lot more to do!

Cllr Harvey outlined that he met with OPW officials carrying out the clean-up and he remarked, “The works started on the clean-up in the past week and they are progressing along stream throughout the town.”

And the Tullamore Town Council Leas Cathaoirleach concluded, “I want to compliment the staff on the tremendous work they are doing. And while there is still a large amount of debris remaining in the river this will be removed in the coming weeks.”
