Come explore Mount St. Joseph's with Roscrea Trail Blazers

SLIEVE BLOOMS

Roscrea Trailblazers are headed for the Slieve Blooms

Now with the long evenings starting to stretch out before us, Roscrea Trail Blazers can look forward to some fantastic walks.

Their walk last Thursday night on The Silver River was very well attended and with some new members joining the group it made for a very enjoyable walk. Weather on the night was perfect for walking and the group enjoyed a fantastic sunset over the Offaly flatlands.

Their walk this Thursday night May 25th is a short walk around Mount St Joseph's Abbey. Distance: 5.5 km, Grade: Easy, Time: 1.5 hours. Meeting at the main gate carpark at 7.15pm. A smashing walk if you get the chance.

Their next Greenway walk will be the fifth section of The Grand Canal Way on Sunday May 28th from the Blundell Aqueduct to Daingean, a distance of 19km, details to follow. Well done to all members who took part in the first section of The Offaly Way from Cadamstown to Lough Boora Parkland, a distance of 18km. The second part of this walk will be on Sunday June 11th.

Well done to the seven members who undertook the arduous Blackstairs Challenge at the weekend, a distance of 34km and covered in a time of 10 hours.

If you would like to join the group on any of their future walks you can contact Cathal on (086) 3399193 with an expression of interest or join their WhatsApp group.. You will be made very welcome.
