ST Cronan's Camogie club gathered to celebrate a fantastic medal presentation last Friday night at Mc’s Bar - The Stand Roscrea.

They were delighted to welcome a special guest ️on the night - local sports star Megan Ryan, who is currently playing Australian rules with Essendon. Megan spoke to the girls about her own career starting at St Cronan's camogie under the guidance of Patsy Carroll (RIP) and progressed with Tipperary Camogie development squads from the age of 13 to play with the senior Tipperary Camogie team for many years. Megan outlined to the huge crowd about the setbacks she has endured and overcome in her career and how she is currently “living the dream” over in Oz.

The club presented her with a Tipp jersey to take back with her and all of Roscrea are so proud of the player/person she is and of how she is an inspiration to this next generation of young camogie players.

Megan presented medals to the U-15 squad 2022 (Danny Bowe invitational in Mount Sion plate winners) – and the U-16 squad 2022 who won the Patsy Carroll invitational and finally the U-16 squad 2021 who won the county U-16C championship in 2021 (Covid times).

Huge thanks to club officers for organising, Paul McNamara and Siobhan for the wonderful set up and food in their lovely establishment and to the parents and girls for coming out in force! Looking forward to a great season ahead at St Cronan's Camogie club in 2023 as the club celebrates its 30 year anniversary!
