Roscrea's Auitism Awareness group have transformed the lives of several families in the town and from surrounding areas and received a funding boost after the hard work and support of the local Church of Ireland.
The fundraising event, which took place on November 5, raised €2,000 for Autism Awareness Roscrea - money which will be put to good use improving the quality of life for local families.
The event was organised by St. Cronan’s Church of Ireland fundraising committee and saw a well attended auction in the Muintir na Tire Hall in aid of the Church grounds.
The Committee had offered to donate 25% of the auction proceeds in support of Autism Awareness Roscrea.
Honorary Treasurer, Andrew Connor said: “Given the fabulous support that we received across the parish, most notably from local businesses, we are delighted to be in the position to give this sum of €2,000 to a very worthy cause, which is based here in the heart of Roscrea.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported our Monster Auction and made this event the success it was.”
On December 22, members of Autism Awareness met with Mr. Connor and the St. Cronan’s committee to receive the donation, which will be put towards a new premises with improved facilities for local families.
