Counting in Offaly's local election was suspended on Sunday night after a box of votes turned up in the wrong place at the count centre.

15 of Offaly's 19 council seats have been filled with counting to get underway again today to fill the remaining four - all of which are in the Birr Electoral Area.

Voting was suspended on Sunday evening after a package of votes in the Birr count was found in the wrong place. That will be rectified on Monday morning before counting resumes.

So who has been elected in Offaly?

TULLAMORE

All seven Tullamore area seats have been filled. Neil Feighery topped the poll for Fine Gael while Fianna Fail managed their vote well to get all four of their candidates in the area over the line. See below the seven newly elected councillors for Tullamore.

Neil Feighery (FG)

Frank Moran (FF)

Tony McCormack (FF)

Declan Harvey (FF)

Sean O'Brien (Ind)

Ollie Bryant (FF)

Aoife Masterson (SF)

EDENDERRY

The Edenderry count was also concluded quickly on Sunday with all six seats filled by the afternoon. Eddie Fitzpatrick topped the poll while two Claire Murrary, one Fianna Fail and one Sinn Féin also got over the one, the latter on the last count to beat out Robert McDermott of Fianna Fail. The elected councillors in Edenderry are:

Eddie Fitzpatrick (FF)

Fergus McDonnell (Ind)

Claire Murray (FF)

Noel Cribbin (FG)

Liam Quinn (FG)

Claire Murray (SF).

BIRR

Birr is the last area in Offaly to fill its seat with only two sitting councillors elected to far. Poll-topper Peter Ormond was elected along with John Leahy on the first count but progress has stalled since then.

John Clendennen is just five votes short of the quota and will be elected next. That will then help fellow Fine Gael candidate Hugh Egan over the line with a battle on for the final two seats.

Two of Audrey Hennessey-Kennedy (FF), Barbara Daly (FF) and Sean Maher (SF) will be elected when counting concludes on Monday. It could go all the way to the wire.
