Two-piece ensembles and daring cut-outs emerged as one of the biggest trends to hit the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2026.
Held on March 15, at the soon-to-be-reopened Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the star-studded after-party once again drew actors, musicians, models and reality stars celebrating Hollywood’s biggest night.
The event has long been regarded as the most glamorous stop of awards season, attracting an ultra-exclusive guest list of Oscar winners, nominees and industry figures.
And among those embracing the revealing cut-out fashion trend was reality star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner, who wore a feathered black two-piece by Alexander McQueen. Jenner, founder of Kylie Cosmetics, paired the halter-style top with a dramatic feather-trimmed skirt.
Supermodel Bella Hadid also opted for a two-piece look, wearing a cream ensemble by Prada featuring a V-shaped cut-out at the waist. The 29-year-old model styled the minimalist outfit with a sleek bun and a large diamond ring.
German supermodel and television presenter Heidi Klum wore a pale yellow gown featuring sheer panels and intricate embroidery, continuing the evening’s theme of daring silhouettes.

Actor Sofia Vergara – best-known for playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the sitcom Modern Family – wore a sparkling gown featuring geometric cut-outs across the bodice.
British actress Marisa Abela, widely known for her role as Yasmin Kara-Hanani in the HBO drama Industry, wore a custom two-piece look by Revolve, consisting of a cropped blazer-style top and slim column skirt.
Australian actress Rose Byrne – nominated for best actress at the 2026 Academy Awards for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You – embraced the two-piece trend in a black fringed ensemble paired with Nikos Koulis Desert diamond earrings.
Singer and actor Suki Waterhouse wore a striking white couture look by Tamara Ralph – a favoured designer of the evening also sported by Rita Ora and Jessica Alba.
The ensemble combined a sculpted cut-out bodice with a flowing skirt and sheer tulle cape, creating one of the night’s most dramatic looks.
Reality TV personality Olandria Carthen opted for a white sheer gown by Pajtim featuring bold cut-outs and flowing fabric panels.
Canadian singer Tate McRae – known for chart-topping hits including Greedy – wore a striking red gown with sculpted cut-outs through the bodice.
Model Amelia Gray Hamlin chose a dramatic black gown with bold side cut-outs and a high neckline, emphasising the trend for gowns that reveal sections of the torso while maintaining an elegant silhouette.
While the Oscars red carpet often leans toward more classic gowns and traditional tailoring, the Vanity Fair after-party has long encouraged stars to experiment with more daring fashion choices, and that was certainly clear this year.
The popularity of two-piece ensembles and cut-out designs proves that when Hollywood’s biggest night ends, the real fashion risks are only just beginning.
