Tullamore District Court

Charges alleging offence at Clara Market brought before Tullamore District Court

THE tools at the centre of an alleged theft offence at Clara Market are worth an estimated €2,000, Tullamore District Court heard.

Patrick Joyce (30), St Samson Square, Balgriffin, Dublin 13 is alleged to have handled stolen DeWalt tools, including a drill, saws, nailers, battery chargers, batteries and a screw gun at Clara Market, Woodfield on July 31 last.

Sergeant James O'Sullivan gave the estimated value of the goods, which he described as “very expensive tools” and said the DPP had directed that the matter be disposed of summarily.

Judge Andrew Cody accepted jurisdiction and adjourned the prosecution to January 13 next when either a plea of guilty will be entered or a date will be fixed for a hearing.
