Offaly woman in court for using unauthorised waste collector for household rubbish
A woman has been handed community services for using an unauthorised waste collector to dispose of her household rubbish.
The Environment Department of Offaly County Council brought the action regarding an ongoing illegal dumping case against the householder.
The woman gave her waste to an unauthorised waste collector.
The defendant pleaded guilty and the Judge imposed community services on her in lieu of a fine/custodial sentence.
Offaly County Council said: "This is becoming an increasingly frequent issue and we would ask all householders to be vigilant as regards the person to whom they give their waste. Please ensure the collector has a valid waste collection permit."
