Offaly receives boost with €500,000 funding for 12 projects

Offaly receives boost with €500,000 funding for 12 projects

Offaly has been allocated €534,935 in the latest LEADER programme announcement by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring TD.

12 projects across the county will benefit from the funding. 

The projects receiving funding are:

€21,600 - St Joseph's Hall sports Committee
To conduct workshops over a six month period to give young people practical experience in areas of audio/media production technology.

€2,354 – Birr Artisan Food and Craft Fayre
Assistance towards staging Food & Craft Fayre over 2 weekends in Birr.

€21,136 - Cribbins Seafood
To purchase equipment to kit-out newly constructed commercial kitchen and smokery in Portarlington.

€49,444 - Edenderry Business Park Redevelopment
To carry out improvements at Edenderry Business Park to include outdoor recreational area and security gates.

€84,226 - Killavilla Community Centre
To create a community activity area for the community of Killavilla in order to encourage physical activity

€86,729 – Molloy Precast Products
To purchase 3 new moulds to allow company to design and manufacture systems with larger capacity for waste water and sewage to facilitate the re-use of water.

€9,482 – Offaly Tourism 
Funding for Marketing Plan to promote Co. Offaly as a tourist destination.

€69,914 – Rose Manufacturing
To refurbish and renovate the old Edenderry Shoe factory administration block as office space for the town with a serviced reception area

€9,477 – Shannonbridge Heritage Trail 
To create a self-guided loop walk around the village of Shannonbridge which will take approx. 45 minutes to complete.

€147,448 – Silver Line Cruisers
To demolish and build improved and larger facilities, incorporating renewable energy technologies, at Silver Line Cruisers Hire Facility at the Marina, Banagher.

€20,394 – The Birr Growery
To provide training courses in 2019/2020 in horticulture and in the establishment of community gardens and sustainable living.

€12,726 – Tubber GAA Walking Track
To upgrade existing walking track around Tubber GAA pitch and to construct a storage shed.
