Gardaí investigating spate of grocery thefts in Offaly town

Gardaí in Edenderry are investigating a spate of grocery thefts in the town in recent weeks.

Three incidents were reported to gardaí in a seven-day period from May 4 to May 11 on the Dublin Road in the town.

Three of the town's four supermarkets (Lidl, Aldi and Tesco) are located in the same area.

It's understood a man stole groceries and alcohol from one of these premises on May 4.

The next day, a young man and woman are believed to have entered a premises and taken groceries without paying for them.

A group of three people, two men and woman, are then believed to have been involved in an identical incident on the Dublin Road on May 11. 

Gardaí are asking anyone with information about any of these thefts to contact them at Edenderry Garda Station on 04697-31290.
