Tullamore public realm works 'on schedule' to finish by November
A spokesperson for Offaly County Council has said the public realm works in Tullamore are "more or less on schedule" as they head towards their sixth month.
The works are scheduled to run until November 2019. The works taking place on High Street recently moved to the south side of the street and a one-way system remains in place.
The scheduled works include O’Connor Square, High St, Bridge St. and Columcille St.
The works to High Street and Bridge Street involve the undergrounding of the existing overhead wires together with the removal of existing poles.
The existing street lighting will be replaced with new feature light poles. The existing footpath will be replaced and widened at particular locations. Road reconstruction and surfacing will also be undertaken on a phased basis.
