Despite a tough few closing holes on his third round, Shane Lowry is just one shot off the lead going into the final round of the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour this evening.
The Offaly golfer shot an even par round of 71 in his third round after he dropped shots on 13, 14 and 16 to leave him on nine under for the tournament, one shot behind World Number 1 Dustin Johnson. Alongside Lowry on nine under are Ian Poulter and Rory Sabbatini.
Lowry was three under to the turn including this monster putt on the ninth. That had him two clear of the field at that point.
However a couple of wayward tee shots on the back nine saw him drop back into a tie for second but despite that, he is still in a very strong position to challenge with 18 holes to go at Hilton Head.
