Shane Lowry still leads at weather affected RBC Heritage on PGA Tour

Shane Lowry still holds the lead with two holes of his second round to go at the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour.

In difficult conditions in a weather affected second round, the Offaly golfer is on nine under par, one shot ahead of Trey Mullinax and two ahead of Emiliano Grillo and World Number 1, Dustin Johnson.

After an opening round of six under par, Shane Lowry had three birdies in his first five holes to move to nine under par. Torrential rain halted play for an extended period and the Offaly golfer dropped a shot on his 7th hole when play resumed. After that however, he was supremely consistent in tough conditions hitting seven pars in a row before getting a birdie on the par 5 15th. He followed that with a par on 16 before poor light brought the day to an end.

He will finish his last two holes of Round 2 early on Saturday and will begin his third round later this evening.
