WEATHER WARNING: Met Eireann issues three Weather Warnings

Met Eireann has issued three Weather Warnings for Saturday, Sunday and into Monday.

A Status Orange Rainfall Warning is in place for Cork and Waterford. Met Eireann says that in the 48 hour period from Saturday evening to Monday evening, a spell of heavy rain through Saturday night and Sunday followed by a second spell of heavy rain later on Sunday night and Monday will give large rainfall amounts. Flooding and hazardous driving conditions in many areas. Rainfall amounts will be highest along the south coast and in mountainous areas. It is in place until 6pm on Monday.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning is in place for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry. Met Eireann says that southeast winds will occasionally reach mean speeds between 50 and 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h. Winds will be strongest in coastal areas. This warning is in place until 3am on Sunday.

Meanwhile a Status Yellow Rainfall Warning is in place for Connacht, Kilkenny, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary. Met Eireann says that in the 48 hour period from Saturday evening to Monday evening, a spell of heavy rain through Saturday night and Sunday followed by a second spell of heavy rain later on Sunday night and Monday will give significant rainfall amounts. There will be spot flooding and hazardous driving conditions in many areas. Rainfall amounts will be highest in mountainous areas. This warning is in place until 6pm on Monday.
