Offaly parish welcomes first triplets since 1951

Edenderry Parish in North Offaly has welcomed its first set of triplets for 68 years.

Local parents Glen and Elaine Dolan celebrated the baptism of Billy, Joey and Katie at St. Mary's Church, Edenderry at the weekend.

The ceremony was performed by parish priest PJ McEvoy who passed on his congratulations to the couple who marked a historic day for the community.

The last triplets baptised in St Mary’s Church in Edenderry were way back in 1951, the children of Daniel and Sara O’Neill of St. Colmcille Road.

At the time, the triplets were named Lucia, Jacinta and Francesco after the three children of Fatima.

The Offaly Express would like to pass on congratulations to Glen and Elaine on the birth and baptism of their triplets.
