The weather forecast from Met Eireann for Saturday is for a wet and windy day with a Weather Warning coming into effect later in the day.

The weather forecast from Met Eireann says that Saturday will be a cold and blustery day. Rain will become widespread in the morning, turning heavy and persistent in places, but becoming more showery in the afternoon, with a few bright or short sunny spells. Some of the showers heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. Mild to start, but getting colder later, with top afternoon temperatures of 6 to 9 C. Windy at times particularly along south and west coasts with strong or very strong and gusty southwest winds, with gales developing along the southwest coast in the afternoon.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow Weather Warning for a number of counties for wind from 8pm on Saturday night to 9am on Sunday morning for coastal counties. Read more on the Weather Warning here

The weather forecast says that Saturday night will be windy with gales or strong gales along Atlantic coasts and some further showers in strong and gusty northwest winds. Overnight lows of 4 to 6 degrees.

Met Eireann says that it looks like Sunday will start windy with ongoing strong and gusty northwest winds. Most places will be dry with sunny spells however, showers will affect Atlantic coastal areas and some will be of hail. Afternoon temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees with an added wind chill.
