Offaly student wins prestigious accounting award at Maynooth University

An Offaly student has claimed the PWC prize for accounting.

Lewis Wood, son of Peter and Glynnis Wood of Clara, Co. Offaly, who formerly attended Ard Scoil Chiaráin Naofa, was presented with the PWC prize for accounting at the recent 2018 Maynooth University Accountancy Showcase.

The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting's annual Maynooth University Accountancy Showcase took place on Monday, 8 October.

All the leading professional accounting firms including PWC, E&Y, KPMG, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, Mazars, BDO, RBK, Crowe, IFAC,  EisnerAmper and Smith & Williamson were present on the night.

Representatives from Kerry Group, the Office of the Auditor & Comptroller General, Revenue, Central Bank, CIMA, Chartered Accountants Ireland and IFS Statestreet.
