Irish Water and Offaly County Council have given an update after pressure from local residents in North Offaly over their loss of water supply.
Residents in Croghan and parts of Rhode have contacted the Offaly Express and numerous media outlets to vent their frustration at their water being shut off for three days.
In a statement on Thursday morning, Offaly County Council said, "Repairs have been completed and Irish Water aims to have all water supplies back to normal by this afternoon. We again apologise to all affected on behalf of Irish Water."
Irish Water had said repairs were taking place to a burst water main, causing supply disruptions to Croghan, Rhode and surrounding areas.
They had originally given an estimated completion time of midday on Friday, October 12, while residents worried about their supply in light of a Status Yellow weather warning for Storm Callum on Thursday night.
Residents can now expect supply to be back to normal before that warning comes into effect. If you need to contact Irish Water about this supply and service alert, you can quote this unique alert reference number: OFF027801.
