Offaly's Mundy stays on US tour despite broken leg

The Offaly man behind hits like 'July' and 'Galway Girl' has shown his undying devotion to his fans by continuing his US tour despite breaking his left leg on the day he arrived Stateside.

The Birr man played his first gig on October 4 despite suffering a broken leg. Taking to social media on the day of the show, Mundy wrote: "I’m looking forward to playing my first show of the tour tonight at Molly Malone's Irish Pub despite the reality that I will have to sit down and play."

Revealing more, the Offaly man added, "on the night of my arrival, I went to take a sharp turn and my left foot got jammed and my large body kept moving in the opposite direction and pop. I heard and felt something break in my lower left leg. It was painful immediately."

"I fractured my fibula and it’s now held up in what resembles an astronaut boot. However, it’s really sore and I’m very disappointed with this simple twist of fate. I’m going to persist on doing these gigs sitting down unless I’m advised otherwise."

"Please forgive me if you thought I’d be bouncing around and pounding my legs off the boards," he concluded.

By all accounts, the gig went down a storm regardless as the clip below reveals:
